This project is based on a digital communication technology that transcribes voice to text and vice versa using speech synthesis.
It is primarily aimed at two groups of people:
- Individuals with congenital hearing impairmentswho have learned Italian Sign Language (LIS) and lip-reading. The technology serves as an alternative aid when interacting with people who do not know LIS, thereby broadening the scope of communication.
- Foreign individualswho do not speak European languages and need to communicate with public bodies and institutions. The service facilitates interaction with front-office services—such as municipal registry offices, healthcare facilities, emergency rooms, courts, security services, and employment agencies—by improving mutual understanding.
